Westridge Middle School students incorporating State Fair design into math classes
Westridge Middle School students are bringing the Nebraska State Fair into their math classrooms.
Math teacher Jan Sorensen is having each sixth-grade student design a State Fair building and calculate the area, circumference, and perimeter of the building that was designed.
Jana Hafer, public relations and marketing director for the Nebraska State Fair, talked to students on May 11 about the event and answered questions. She will be invited back to Westridge to see the completed projects, which are due May 17. Students will give classroom presentations about their projects on May 18 and May 19.
