West Lawn Elementary School students are “traveling” to Europe from 3:05 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, at the school as part of their “World Class Learning” theme this year to learn about different continents.
Students will participate in sessions in at the school to learn about items including:
* Reading a story about Russian nesting toys and painting their own sets of nesting boxes.
* Seeing a demonstration of the game of chess, making their own chess boards, and playing online chess.
* Creating paintings using different watercolor techniques.
* Researching about their family coat of arms.
* Observing cloggers teaching them how to do traditional European folk dancing steps and then trying the steps.
* Watching a demonstration about clown makeup techniques and outfits and designing their own clown faces.
