West Lawn Elementary School hosting event to learn about Asia

West Lawn Elementary School students will participate in “Destination Asia” from 3:05 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, at the school as part of their “World Class Learning” theme this year to learn about different continents.

Students will participate in break-out sessions concerning history and demonstration of judo, descriptions of the Asian versions of Cinderella, history of the importance of the dragon in the Chinese New Year and construction of a dragon, a demonstration of food art, Chinese checkers, and creation of a Chinese banner with characters, Principal Jane Gloor said.

“The break-out sessions enhance our school theme of traveling to different continents and learning about the continents,” she said.
