Walnut students celebrating Teen Tech Week
Walnut Middle School students will celebrate Teen Tech Week during the week of March 3, integration specialist Janet Schutz said.
Teen Tech Week is a national program that encourages teens to seek and use nonprint resources for education and recreational purposes. During the week, students will learn about technological advances from the historical perspective by Stuhr Museum staff members during students' checkout time. Stuhr staff will work with eighth-graders on March 3, seventh-graders on March 4, and sixth-graders on March 5.
On March 6, students will meet with a Nebraska State Patrol trooper to learn about Internet safety. Parents are encouraged to attend any session to learn about the dangers and safety measures they can implement to make sure their children are safe. Sessions in the auditorium will be from 10:30 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. for seventh-graders; 12:30 p.m. to 1:20 p.m. for sixth-graders; and 1:20 p.m. to 2:10 p.m. for eighth-graders.
