Shoemaker Elementary School hosting author Julia Cook
Children's book author Julia Cook of Fremont will work with Shoemaker Elementary School students on Tuesday, Oct. 26, to promote writing and reading.
Cook will work with Shoemaker Elementary School students between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Oct. 26 at the school at 4160 Old Potash Highway, said Principal Lee Wolfe.
She will give a presentation for parents and students that is open to the public from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 26 in Shoemaker's gym.
Cook lives with her husband and three children in Fremont. She has a master's degree in elementary school counseling and has worked as a teacher and elementary school counselor. Her books have been mentioned in publications such as People Magazine and The New Yorker.
