Registration set for elementary and middle schools

Registration for Grand Island Public Schools elementary and middle school students for the 2010-2011 school year will be during the week of July 26.
Elementary students will register July 27 and July 28. Middle school students will register July 26, July 27, and July 28.

Elementary school students are asked to register between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, or between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, at their respective schools.

Barr, Walnut, and Westridge Middle School students will register according to grade level on designated days between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. July 26 through July 28. Eighth-graders should register on Monday, July 26; seventh-graders on Tuesday, July 27; and sixth-graders on Wednesday, July 28.
A $20 activity fee will be collected, and student photographs will be taken during registration at Westridge, Walnut, and Barr Middle Schools.

Seventh-graders must have physical examinations and required immunizations by the time school begins on Wednesday, Aug. 18. Barr and Walnut parents are asked to bring the completed registration packets they received in the mail. Westridge parents should allow time to complete required district forms at registration.

By state regulations, all students are required to have appropriate immunizations or have on file with the school a medical or religious waiver prior to the start of school. All kindergartners, students new to the district, and seventh-graders are required to provide proof of physical examinations. Students new to the district are also required to present a birth certificate. Contact your building principal if you have questions.
