Purple Hands Assembly scheduled at Barr Middle School
The Purple Hands Assembly at Barr Middle School will begin at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, in the school's gym.
Andres Gamboa, a junior at Grand Island Senior High School, is the keynote speaker. He will talk about overcoming adversity and persevering. The assembly is open to the public.
During the rally, Barr students take the Purple Hands pledge that says, "I will not use my hands or my words for hurting myself or others." The Purple Hands Program has been integrated into all three Grand Island Public Schools middle schools.
