Nominations sought to name school district's Administration Building
Nominations are being accepted from the public to name the Grand Island Public Schools Administration Building at 123 S. Webb Road.
Based on Board of Education policy, a committee with representation from the Board of Education, community, administration, and teaching staff has been appointed to review potential names and to make recommendations to the Board of Education for consideration at its May 8 meeting.
Nominations should include the following information:
1. Suggested name for the building
2. Rationale for the suggested name
3. Name, address, and phone number of the person submitting the nomination
Nominations must be received by 5 p.m. Friday, April 11, and can be mailed to: Administration Building Naming Committee, c/o Carol Bryant, Public Relations Coordinator, Grand Island Public Schools,
P.O. Box 4904, Grand Island, NE 68802. Nominations can also be submitted at the Administration Building at 123 S. Webb Road or e-mailed to Carol Bryant at: cbryant@gips.org.
The school district's previous Administration Building was located at 615 N. Elm St. in the former Platt School and was called the Platt Administration Building. Administrative offices were moved to 123 S. Webb Road, and that building is known as the Grand Island Public Schools Administration Building.
