Make-up registration scheduled for Grand Island Senior High School students
Make-up registration and enrollment verification for Grand Island Senior High School students who were unable to attend earlier registration will be Monday, Aug. 8, through Friday, Aug. 12 in the Counselors’ Office at the school.
Make-up registration will be from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day Aug. 8 through Aug. 12. No appointment is necessary.
Parents and students are asked to bring the completed registration packets they received in the mail. Grand Island Senior High School will open the 2011-2012 school year on Wednesday, Aug. 17, for ninth-graders and Thursday, Aug. 18, for students in 10th grade through 12th grade.
By state regulations, all students are required to have appropriate immunizations or have a medical or religious waiver on file with the school prior to the start of school.
The cost for a 2011-2012 student activity ticket is $50 per student. The fee allows for participation in Senior High School student activities, sports, or organizations and also provides the student an admission ticket to all home Senior High School student contests and competitions. Dances are considered a student activity and will require a student activity ticket for admission. Admission charges may also apply to school-sponsored dances. This activity ticket does not include admission to NSAA-sanctioned district and state competitions.
Students new to Grand Island must bring a transcript and health records from their previous school. Without these records, new students will not be able to register.
