Knickrehm teacher will receive educator award

Diane MeyerDiane Meyer, a fifth-grade teacher at Knickrehm Elementary School, will receive an Educator Award at the Nebraska Community Tree Conference and Tree City USA awards banquet on Tuesday, April 8, in Lincoln.

Meyer is one of two educators who will receive the award, said Chip Murrow, a community forester assistant with the Nebraska Forest Service in Lincoln.

"She is receiving the award for her dedication to education and making trees and our natural environment important issues for her students, enlightening their views and knowledge about nature," Murrow said.

Meyer will receive a plaque for winning the award.
