Knickrehm Elementary School students collect food for Salvation Army
Knickrehm Elementary School students collected approximately 1,000 food items for the Salvation Army from Nov. 9 through Nov. 18, Principal Andrew Rinaldi said.
One student from each grade who brought in a food item was randomly selected to receive a certificate for a free turkey from Cornerstone Bank, he said.
Knickrehm's Student Council members took the donated items to the Salvation Army's food bank after school on Nov. 18. The students toured the facility and learned more about how the food is used in the community.
