Kindergarten registration set for April 15 for G.I. Public Schools
Grand Island Public Schools kindergarten registration for the 2010-2011 school year will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, April 15.
Children who will be 5 years old by Oct. 15 are eligible to register at designated schools. If parents are uncertain which school their child will attend, they may call the Grand Island Public Schools Kneale Administration Building at 385-5900.
Parents are asked to bring to registration their child's birth certificate (from the state) and Social Security number. The names and birthdates of all brothers and sisters, and the name and address of someone other than parents to contact in case of emergency are also required. By state law, physical examinations, vision examinations, and immunizations are required for all students entering school.
It is extremely important for parents to register their children this spring so the schools can plan for fall classes. If you cannot register on this date, it is important that you contact your neighborhood school to make other arrangements.
Registration will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, April 15, at the following 14 elementary schools:

* Newell, 2700 W. 13th St., 385-5905
* Seedling Mile, 3208 E. Seedling Mile Road, 385-5910
* Shoemaker, 4160 Old Potash Highway, 385-5936
* Starr, 315 Wyandotte St., 385-5882
* Stolley Park, 1700 W. Stolley Park Road, 385-5913
* Wasmer, 318 S. Clark St., 385-5920
* West Lawn, 3022 W. College St., 385-5930
