Grand Island Senior High School’s Orchestras will perform at May 3 concert
Grand Island Senior High School’s Orchestras will present their final concert of the school year at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, in the school’s auditorium at 2124 N. Lafayette Ave., Director Christa Speed said.
The Camerata, Philharmonic, and Symphony Orchestras will perform.
Beethoven’s Symphony No. 1 and Benjamin Britten’s “Simple Symphony” will be included in the program.
Cello soloist Hannah Benson will be featured in the concert playing “Elegie” by Gabrielle Faure. Benson is a senior and recently received the Young Artist Award from Moonshell Arts and Humanities Council.
Members of the senior violin quartet (Mollie Bartlett, Breanna Casares, Jody McKee, and Elizabeth Prawl) will also perform. Seniors will be recognized at the concert.
The concert is free and open to the public.
