Senior High School's Orchestra's plan March 1 concert; selected to perform at State Capitol

Grand Island Senior High School’s Orchestras will perform at a concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, at the high school’s auditorium at 2124 N. Lafayette Ave., Director Christa Speed said.

The Philharmonic Orchestra and Camerata Orchestra will each perform several selections and will combine for performances on “New Moon” from the Twilight Series movie and “Dance Suite” by Alexander Glazounov.

Also, the high school’s Camerata Orchestra has been selected to perform at the Nebraska State Capitol at noon Friday, March 4, in the Capitol’s rotunda. The Nebraska Music Educators Association is sponsoring the concert as part of Nebraska Music Education Week and as a part of the national Music Educators National Conference “Music in Our Schools Month.”
