As a parent, have you ever wondered how you do it all? We want our children to grow up happy, healthy, safe, and successful. How do you, as a parent, make certain you have provided your child with the parental support and guidance they need?
If you want to be the best possible parent for your child, don't miss the 2008 Statewide Parent Involvement Conference. The Parent Involvement Conference will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at Papillion-La Vista South High School in Papillion.
This statewide conference will offer ideas and strategies for all parents to use at home in areas such as:how to support your child in school, internet safety, use of technology, discipline, nutrition, and much more.
Gov. Dave Heineman and First Lady Sally Ganem will welcome conference attendees and share their personal experiences as parents.
The keynote speaker for the Parent Involvement Conference is David Voss. He will share information about the "Be There" campaign, a national movement that inspires parents to become more involved in their children's education. It focuses on parental involvement, making the ordinary moments, extraordinary!
"There truly is something for everyone. It is a great conference for all parents. Participants will leave the conference feeling inspired and armed with the tools they need to be a better parent," said Deb Rodenburg of Papillion, treasurer for the Parent Involvement Conference. She is principal at Carriage Hill Elementary School in Papillion.
