Grand Island, Nebraska: Every Student, Every Day, A Success!
Grand Island Senior High School's Student Advisory Board for the Saint Francis Medical Center Student Wellness Center is hosting a "go green" pep rally at 8 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6, in the school's west gym.
The purpose of the rally is to promote school unity regarding concern for the conservation and improvement of the natural environment, said Caroline Jones, a Student Wellness Center counselor.
"Participants this year will compete in four different activities to underscore the importance of environmentalism," Jones said.
Activities will include a "go green Jello word find," a recyclable scooter race, a "slimy tug-of-war," and a bottle recycle race.
Winning participants will receive prizes. Throughout the pep rally, Student Advisory Board members will announce environmental facts and ideas for improving the environment.
Saint Francis Medical Center operates the Student Wellness Center at the high school.
