G.I. Senior High School orchestra members participate in District Music Contest

Grand Island Senior High School orchestra members participated in the District Music Contest in Kearney on April 24 and April 25, orchestra director Christa Speed said.

Soloists and ensembles received either a I rating (superior) or II rating (excellent). The high school's String Orchestra and Full Orchestra each received a superior rating (I).

Soloists and small ensembles that received superior (I) ratings were:
*Linda Nguyen, violin.
*Amanda Hill, violin.
*Hannah Benson, cello.
*Kaitlyn Worthington, cello.
*Hanna Taylor, cello.
*Margaret Gregory, flute.
*Sarah Bauer and Sara Robbins, violin/viola duet.
*Jody McKee and Elizabeth Prawl, violin duet.
*Mollie Bartlett and Breanna Casares, violin duet.
*Jody McKee, Elizabeth Prawl, Mollie Bartlett, and Breanna Casares, violin quartet.
*Hannah Benson, Kaitlyn Worthington, Kiley Preisendorf, Chelsea Reeh, Aaron Theis, Ciara Meyer, and Skyler Barlow, cello ensemble.
Victoria Bialas received a II rating (excellent) on her violin solo.
