G.I. Senior High Orchestra plans Christmas event involving alumni

The Grand Island Senior High School Orchestra will present the annual Orchestra Alumni Breakfast and caroling in the halls at the school on Tuesday, Dec. 22. Larry Maupin started the traditional caroling event in 1965.

The breakfast will begin at 6 a.m. Dec. 22 at the Farmer's Daughter Cafe, 105 N. Walnut St., said Orchestra Director Christa Speed.  Following the breakfast, the musicians will play traditional Christmas music in the middle gym at the high school beginning at 7:30 a.m. Dec. 22.

All Orchestra alumni and current Orchestra members are invited to attend the breakfast and to join in playing. Any alumni who need to borrow an instrument to play should contact Christa Speed at 385-5950 prior to Dec. 19.
