G.I. Senior High hosting presentation about Heartland Honor Flight program
Grand Island Senior High School is hosting a presentation about the Heartland Honor Flight program at 8 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23, in the school's auditorium at 2124 N. Lafayette Ave.
Local veterans are welcome to attend the presentation, said Greg Morrow, a social studies teacher at the high school. The Heartland Honor Flight program has taken hundreds of Nebraska World War II veterans to Washington, D.C., to see the World War II Memorial.
The final two flights for the Heartland Honor Flight program are planned in April.
KHAS-TV News 5 News Director Dennis Kellogg will show highlights and stories from the 2008 flights during the presentation.
