G.I. Public Schools middle school students compete at Northeast Community College Jazz Festival

Musical groups from Grand Island Public Schools middle schools competed in the Northeast Community College Jazz Festival on March 28 in Norfolk.

Westridge Middle School’s show choir received first place in the middle school show choir division, and Westridge’s jazz band received first place in the middle school jazz band division, Westridge Band Teacher Terry Speed said.

Barr Middle School’s show choir received fourth place in the middle school show choir division.
Students from secondary schools in Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota competed in the Northeast Community College Jazz Festival in show choir and jazz band divisions.
