G.I. Public Schools Middle School Choral Clinic set for Feb. 21
Students from Barr, Walnut, and Westridge Middle Schools will participate in the annual Grand Island Public Schools Middle School Choral Clinic on Monday, Feb. 21, at Grand Island Senior High School.
Approximately 180 students in seven and eighth grades will form a mass choir and spend the day singing and rehearsing music that they learned at their middle schools, said Kay Lyons, vocal music teacher at Walnut Middle School.
The clinic begins at 8 a.m. Feb. 21 and ends at 3:15 p.m. Feb. 21. Students will return to the high school at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 21 prior to the evening concert.
The students will perform in a concert that begins at 7 p.m. Feb. 21 in the auditorium at Grand Island Senior High School, 2124 N. Lafayette Ave. The concert is open to the public, and there is no admission charge.
Taylor Jones and Jeff Vyhlidal, vocal music teachers at Grand Island Senior High School, are the clinicians for the day's events and the evening performance. Hannah Jorgensen is the accompanist. Vocal music teachers at the middle schools are Kay Lyons, Julie Sackschewsky, and Donica Vonderohe.
