G.I. Public Schools elementary students presenting musical

Grand Island Public Schools elementary students will present the musical “Voices of the American Revolution” at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 24, in the Grand Island Senior High School auditorium, 2124 N. Lafayette Ave.

The musical is written and produced by students from the 14 elementary schools in Grand Island Public Schools.

The event is open to the public. The admission “fee” is a canned food item that will be donated to the Salvation Army Food Pantry.

Students have done essential work in their committees: script, scenery, marketing, music composition, choreography, cast, costumes, film/video, and directors/producers. The 83 students have worked together to create a historical re-enactment musical that they hope will entertain the audience.

A video of the musical will be shown at the Grand Theatre, 316 W. Third St., at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 5. There is no admission fee.

Come, watch, and enjoy the historical time of the birth of America.
