G.I. Public Schools Board of Education approves contract with new superintendent
Grand Island Public Schools Board of Education unanimously approved a contract Jan. 5 for Dr. Rob Winter, who will become superintendent of the school district on July 1.
Winter is currently superintendent of Salina Public Schools in Kansas. Winter will receive a base salary of $234,000, plus $6,000 for health insurance, for a total annual compensation of $240,000.
Winter will receive 10 sick days and 20 days of vacation annually. He will also receive eight holiday days annually, comprised of two days at Christmas, New Year's Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving.
Grand Island Public Schools will also pay for any portion of an annual physical that is not covered by health insurance.
