Former Engleman Elementary School first-graders invited to open Y2K time capsules

First-graders at Engleman Elementary School made time capsules in the year 2000.

Each time capsule said, "Time Capsule. Do Not Open Until 2011."

Students who were first-graders at Engleman in the winter of 2000 and had Diann Barnes or Joan Brown as teachers are invited to attend an event to open the time capsules from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, at the school at 1812 Mansfield Road.

Students are asked to bring their time capsules and any photos they want to share.

People who plan to attend the event are asked to contact Michelle Anderson at mianders@gips.org or call her at 381-0489. Refreshments will be served.
