Engleman Elementary School honoring retiring teachers
Engleman Elementary School staff and students are planning a special send-off for three retiring teachers on Tuesday, May 24, Principal Maureen Oman said.
Retiring teachers Kris Carlson, Barb Leth, and Terry Speed will be honored beginning at 2:50 p.m. May 24 near the entrance to the school at 1812 Mansfield Road.
Students will line the halls and sing a song about the retiring teachers set to the tune of the Nebraska fight song, Oman said.
The retiring teachers will walk through a “tunnel” of students, enter an antique car just outside the school, and travel throughout the Engleman attendance area. Staff members will host a dinner for the retirees after the car ride.
