Dodge Elementary School students collect coins for Relay for Life
Dodge Elementary School students raised $1,351 for Relay for Life through a 13-day coin drive, said Shellie Meyer, a third-grade teacher at the school.
“This collection was done as a part of the Grand Island Education Association Relay for Life team,” Meyer said.
Every year, GIEA has a team that participates in Relay for Life, and staff members from each school in the district are asked to help raise money for the team.
Relay for Life is an annual fund-raiser for the American Cancer Society. Relay for Life in Hall County begins at 6 p.m. Friday, June 17, at Grand Island Central Catholic.
