Custodian presenting book review for Barr Middle School students
Barr Middle School custodian Roy Yanda will give a "book talk" about "Every Soul A Star" by Wendy Mass for a Barr after-school student book club at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, April 16.
Yanda has also created a giant replica of the book's cover that is displayed at the entrance to the school's media center at 602 W. Stolley Park Road, Principal Jeff Gilbertson said. "Every Soul A Star" is the story of three young teens who witness a total solar eclipse.
Yanda is an avid reader and will give his book review for members of the First Readers' Society, an after-school book club comprised of 10 to 20 students.
He also bakes and decorates cakes and will provide a special celebration cake for the event.
