Children's book author to visit several G.I. Public Schools
Children's author Kelly DiPucchio from Michigan will work with elementary and middle school students at several Grand Island Public Schools Sept. 22 through Sept. 26.
DiPucchio has written children's books including "Liberty's Journey," "What's the Magic Word?" "Bed Hogs," and "Dinosnores."
The author will work with students at these schools:
Sept. 22: She will work with middle school high ability learner students at Westridge Middle School, 4111 W. 13th St., from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.
Sept. 23: DiPucchio will be at Shoemaker Elementary School, 4160 Old Potash Highway, with sessions at 9:40 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 1:40 p.m. in the school's gym.
Sept. 24: DiPucchio will work with students at Lincoln Elementary School 805 N. Beal St., at these times: fourth and fifth grade (8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.), kindergarten and first grade (9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.), and second and third grade (12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.)
Sept. 25: DiPucchio will work with elementary high ability learner students at Westridge Middle School from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.
Sept. 26: The author will work with students at Howard Elementary School, 502 W. Ninth St. Sessions are scheduled at these times: fifth grade (8:05 a.m. to 8:55 a.m.), fourth grade (9 a.m. to 9:50 a.m.), third grade (9:55 a.m. to 10:35 a.m.), second grade (10:40 a.m. to 11:20 a.m.), kindergarten (11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and 12:20 p.m. to 12:50 p.m.), first grade (1 p.m. to 1:50 p.m.).
