Barr Middle School vocal music concerts scheduled

Barr Middle School students will present two vocal music concerts Tuesday, April 6, and another concert on Thursday, April 8, at the school at 602 W. Stolley Park Road, vocal music teacher Donica Vonderohe said.

The seventh-grade concert will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 6. Students will perform "thatsentertainment.com," a medley of rock and roll, television theme songs, movie themes, and hit records. Songs will include hits from Elvis, the Supremes, and the Beatles and from television shows such as "Bewitched," "I Love Lucy," and "The Brady Bunch."

The eighth-grade concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 6. Students will perform "American Pop Forever," a medley of pop songs from the 1950s through the 1990s. Songs from Elvis, the Supremes, Smokey Robinson and The Miracles, the Carpenters, the Village People, Billy Joel, and Hootie and The Blowfish will be performed.

The sixth-grade concert will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 8. Students will perform "Disney Movie Magic," a medley including songs from movies such as "The Lion King," "Hunchback of Notre Dame," "Hercules," and "Toy Story." They will also perform "Siyahamba" (a South African folk song), "Ghostbusters," and "Anything You Can Do."
