Barr Middle School students complete food drive for Salvation Army
Barr Middle School students just finished a food drive where they collected more than 1,000 cans of food for the Salvation Army.
Seventh-grade students organized the drive a part of their Gang Resistance Education and Training (GREAT) community service project, said Joan Black, a social studies teacher at Barr.
The food was delivered to the Salvation Army on Nov. 2. This is the second year for the project. Last year, more than 1,000 cans of food were donated to Hope Harbor.
