Barr Middle School schedules vocal music concerts
Barr Middle School will present vocal music concerts on May 10 and May 12, Vocal Music Teacher Donica Vonderohe said.
Barr’s sixth-grade choir concert will start at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 10. The sixth-grade choir will perform “The Adventures of Lewis and Clark.” This short musical follows the travels of Meriwether Lewis, William Clark, and their crew as they travel from the East Coast to the West Coast. Several students will be featured as soloists.
The seventh-grade choir concert begins at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 12. The seventh-grade choir will perform “Destination Rock ‘N’ Roll.” This music revue explores the cities where rock and roll music began. Songs performed by Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, The Who, Queen, The Beach Boys, Bon Jovi, and other stars will be featured. Several seventh-grade students will be featured as soloists.
The eighth-grade choir will present a spring pops concert starting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 12.
“Thriller,” “Life Is A Highway,” “Seasons of Love,” and “Africa” are among the songs that will be performed. Several soloists will be featured.
All concerts will be in the school’s auditorium at 602 W. Stolley Park Road, and there is no admission charge.
