Central Nebraska Support Service Program (CNSSP)

CNSSP provides services to 7 school districts and a number of non-public schools in Hall,
Howard and Merrick counties.

FREE APPROPRIATE PUBLIC EDUCATION:    
       The school districts of the Central Nebraska Support Services Program ensure that a free appropriate public
        education is available to all children with disabilities from birth through the school year in which the student
        reaches 21 years of age.

FULL EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY:
         The school districts of the Central Nebraska Support Services Program have a a goal of providing full
        educational opportunity for all children with disablilities consisitent with the state's full educational
        opportunity goal.

CHILDFIND:
          All children, regardless of the severity of their disabilities and who are in need of special education, residing
          in the school districts of CNSSP including children who are homeless or wards of the state, and children
          attending non-public schools are identified, located, and evaluated.

IDENTIFICATION, EVALUATION, AND VERIFICATION:
       The school districts of CNSSP ensure that children with disablities are evaluated in accordance with
        92 NAC 51-006.  Procedures to verify that testing and evaluation materials and techniques for the purposes
        of evaluation and placement of children with disabilities will be selected and administered so as not to be
        racially or culturally discriminatory.  Such materials or procedures shall be provided and administered in the
        child's native language or mode of communication, unless it is clearly not feasible to do so.  No single procedure
        shall be the sole principle for determining an appropriate educational program for the child.
