Teaching and Learning Services

Welcome to the Learning section of the GIPS website.

The goal of the GIPS Teaching & Learning (T&L) Services is to provide high quality services that translate into continually better student learning opportunities and results.  The T&L Services staff includes the Assistant Superintendent for Student Learning, Secondary T&L Director, Elementary Secondary T&L Director, two T&L Coordinators, and two secretaries.

Our staff has responsibility for leading and coordinating the district’s teaching and learning processes.  We want GIPS staff members to feel supported and challenged in their efforts to provide all students with a world-class education.  By providing both support and challenge, we strive to help GIPS staff members work smarter, more effectively, and realize the district’s mission of “Every Day, Every Student, A Success.”

The T&L Services has responsibility for these major functions:
•    PreK-12 Regular Education;
•    PreK-12 ELL Education;
•    Alternative Education;
•    Curriculum Design and Implementation;
•    Assessment Design and Implementation;
•    District, State, and Federal Accountability;
•    Districtwide Improvement Process;
•    School Improvement Process;
•    Professional Development;
•    Teacher Supervision and Evaluation;
•    Teacher Mentoring;
•    Instructional Coaching;
•    Administrator Supervision and Evaluation;
•    Instructional Strategies and Delivery;
•    Instructional Resources; and
•    Parent Liaisons.
